  • Runkelstein Castle

Schloss Runkelstein bei Bozen: Ausflugsziel des Hotel Schönblick in Jenesien

Not only the name of Runkelstein Castle sounds as if derived from an old fairy tale. This medieval fortress from the 13th century towers majestically above Bolzano. The entire site is worth visiting, but of particular interest is the extensive 14th century secular Tristan & Isolde fresco cycle.
