Dolomiti golf club

While not actually in South Tyrol – it is located just over the border with Trentino up on the Mendel Pass – the beautiful 18-hole Dolomiti course offers golfers a unique atmosphere. While the “front 9” are fairly narrow thanks to the surrounding mountain forests, trees and water hazards, the “back 9” open up to offer you the feeling of playing high on a plateau. The Dolomiti golf course has relatively little difference in elevation, with longer holes, meaning low woods are recommended. Whatever you choose, there are magnificent views to be had over the South Tyrol and Trentino mountain formations.

Alta Badia golf club

One of Europe’s highest golf courses, it perches at an altitude of 1,700 metres above sea level. The location of the Alta Badia golf club is ideal for a round in high summer: the fresh mountain air, relatively flat terrain and lots of sunshine offered by this 9-hole course give every type of player the chance to enjoy the great outdoors. The holes themselves offer plenty of variety – an accurate game is helpful so as not to lose yourself in the deep rough or hit the ball straight into the valley. All those looking for the full South Tyrol experience should definitely add this place to their list!

Petersberg golf club

Surrounded by larch forests, the sometimes narrow (but never unreasonably so) fairways of the 18-hole Petersberg golf club require careful judgment: it is an all-round winner thanks to its stimulating doglegs, carefully tended holes and its staff, who come in for repeated praise. Its location up in the mountains means significant differences in elevation – a cart, while recommended, is not a necessity as fit golfers will appreciate that little extra challenge.

Golfclub „Mountain Beast“ in Carezza

Carezza – Karerpass: the place where it all began for the golfing region of South Tyrol. Originally created for the upscale clientele of the Grand Hotel Carezza, at first only well-heeled guests and the nobility played on the Carezza golf course. Now, mercifully, anyone can follow the trail of the high society of that time – but, as the name “Mountain Beast” implies, the challenge should not be underestimated: this is one of South Tyrol’s most technically demanding courses. In recompense the 9-hole course offers a unique panorama over the Dolomite massifs of the Rosengarten and Rotwand.

Short, narrow holes alternate with long, wide fairways, while perfectly shaped greens are a delight for every golfer!

The course extends below the Schlern massif, part of a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, past gorges and rushing waterfalls: long holes offer ample room for big plays, while easier stretches offer a chance to relax in between – as well as time to feast your eyes on the inimitable landscape.
