My luxury yoga retreat in Italy
At the yoga hotel in Italy, I embarked on a journey to myself
For a long time, I had wanted to take some time just for myself – to step away from daily routines, turn off constant phone notifications and find peace in nature and mindfulness. While searching for a luxury yoga retreat in Italy, I came across Hotel Belvedere near Bolzano. Even the website radiated calm, elegance and authenticity. Today, after my stay, I know: Belvedere is a place to breathe, to let go and to reconnect with yourself. My yoga retreat in the Alps turned out to be the perfect choice.
Driving up to wind down
From Bolzano, the road winds its way up to Jenesien. With every metre gained, the views widened, the air grew clearer – and I noticed how my mind began to settle. Upon arriving at the Belvedere, I immediately felt that this yoga hotel in Italy was a true sanctuary, designed to slow life down. A hideaway that seamlessly blends aesthetics with mindfulness. My room was stunning: modern architecture, warm wood, floor-to-ceiling windows and an extraordinary view over Bolzano and the surrounding Dolomites. I took a deep breath and felt that I had truly arrived. The warm welcome from the host family and team created an atmosphere where everything felt harmonious: architecture, hospitality and nature – the perfect foundation for what was to follow.
Sun salutations with Dolomites views
The next morning, my yoga retreat in the Dolomites began with a welcome circle and our first outdoor practice. Before sunrise, we gathered on the panoramic terrace. As I rolled out my mat and eased into the first sun salutation, the sky turned pink and orange above the Dolomites. Breath, movement, stillness – everything fell into place. I thought: This is exactly where I want to be. I felt so fortunate to have found this yoga retreat in the Alps.
Finding balance on the mat
The yoga retreat programme was diverse and suitable for all levels: sometimes powerful Vinyasa flows, other times gentle Yin yoga. Each day followed a clear rhythm: a morning yoga practice before breakfast and a guided meditation after dinner. Afternoons were filled with inspiring talks and workshops on mindfulness, meditation, lightness and happiness. Three full retreat days concluded with a touching closing ceremony. Our experienced teacher guided us with warmth and knowledge, turning every session into a gift. The bright yoga room offered the perfect space to look inwards while still embracing the vast Alpine scenery. This yoga retreat in Italy reminded me to listen to my body more closely – and to let go at the same time.
Yoga and hiking: the perfect combination
A real highlight for me was the group hike. After morning yoga and breakfast, we laced up our boots and set off to the “Stoanerne Mandln”, a place long considered a powerful energy site. Step by step, breath by breath – it felt like meditation in motion. For me, the combination of yoga and hiking in South Tyrol was ideal: fuelling up with energy on the mat in the morning, then experiencing freedom in nature. Returning to yoga in the evening, my body felt strong, clear and deeply relaxed.
Wellness meets indulgence
Choosing a yoga hotel in Italy with spa facilities turned out to be the perfect decision. After intensive yoga sessions, it was pure bliss to dive into the infinity pool and unwind in the sauna. Lying in the quiet rooms with panoramic views felt like weightless serenity. A soothing treatment was included in the retreat and brought even deeper relaxation. The wellness area could even be used on the day of arrival and departure. Culinary delights also played a role: fresh regional ingredients, creative dishes and a light cuisine that perfectly complemented my luxury yoga retreat in Italy. It was the ideal balance of indulgence and mindfulness.
My conclusion: back into balance
I arrived at Belvedere with no expectations – and left with a heart full of gratitude. This yoga retreat near the Dolomites gave me calm, clarity and precious time for myself. It certainly won’t be my last yoga retreat in Italy. I’m already looking forward to one of the next retreats at the Belvedere. Whether for a longer stay or just a weekend: the Belvedere is, for me, the perfect place to recharge, reconnect and experience the mountains as a true source of energy.

The days at the Belvedere gave me peace, clarity and lightness. An experience that will stay with me for a long time.
