Tanz Bozen 2026

South Tyrol's International Festival of Contemporary Dance

On 16 July 2026, the 42nd edition of Tanz Bozen / Bolzano Danza begins, once again turning Bolzano into a major international hub for contemporary dance. Under the artistic direction of Anouk Aspisi and Olivier Dubois, the festival presents more than 40 events across 17 venues throughout the city.

With the theme “Horizon,” the 2026 edition explores memory, transformation and new perspectives. The programme combines historic masterpieces with contemporary creations, including the Italian premiere of Rosas danst Rosas by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Badke(remix) by the Palestinian company Stereo48, and the return of Canadian dance icon Louise Lecavalier with danses vagabondes.

Alongside performances, the festival features workshops, talks and the large open-air dance celebration ExtraDanza. Venues such as Maretsch Castle, Museion, the Dominican Cloister, Waltherhaus and other urban spaces transform the city into a vibrant stage for contemporary dance.

St. Magdalener Aperitivo

South Tyrolean Wine Culture in the Heart of Bolzano

On 4 September 2026, the St. Magdalener Aperitivo will take place for the first time in Walther Square, in the heart of Bolzano. Set in a charming atmosphere with live music and a flower-decorated stage, the event celebrates St. Magdalener, one of South Tyrol's oldest and most versatile native wines.

During this extended aperitivo, visitors can enjoy tastings and discover the unique character of this traditional red wine, grown on the sunny slopes north of Bolzano. The favourable climate and the traditional addition of a small proportion of Lagrein give the wine its fresh and balanced flavour. Around twenty family-run wineries will showcase their wines and welcome guests to experience this local specialty.
